Small Business Website Grader

Run a free website audit across ten technical and content checks. If the result points to structural problems, use the website redesign guide to plan the next step.

We audit the public page, robots rules, and a bounded sample of internal links. No sign-up required.

What is a website grader?

A website grader is an automated audit that turns technical signals into a prioritized report. Teqri's Small Business Website Grader scores ten areas from 0 to 100, shows the evidence for each result, and removes unavailable checks from score coverage instead of guessing.

As of August 2026, the Teqri grader uses Google PageSpeed Insights for mobile Lighthouse data when the service is available. Teqri also fetches the public HTML, response headers, robots.txt, sitemap.xml, llms.txt, JSON-LD, form structure, and up to eight same-origin links.

What changed in August 2026?The first public version added PageSpeed data, separate unknown states, bounded link sampling, AI search crawler rules, rate limits, and private-network protections.

What does this free website audit check?

The Website Grader checks ten categories with a published limit for each category. The score is useful for triage; it does not replace a full crawl or specialist review.

CategoryAutomated methodWhat a passing result meansWhat still needs a person
SpeedGoogle mobile Lighthouse when available. The tested page met the audit's performance threshold.Real-user monitoring, device range, and conversion effect.
Mobile usabilityResponsive viewport and Lighthouse viewport audit. The page has the required mobile viewport behavior.Real layouts, tap targets, reading, and task completion.
AccessibilityLighthouse plus language, alt, label, and heading checks.Automated signals cleared the stated threshold.Keyboard, screen reader, zoom, contrast, and cognitive review.
IndexingHTTP status, meta robots, X-Robots-Tag, robots.txt, sitemap. No blocking directive was detected for the tested page.Actual Google and Bing index status.
Broken linksUp to eight unique same-origin links from the submitted page.Every sampled URL returned a successful or redirect response.A site-wide crawl for larger websites.
SSLFinal URL protocol after safe redirects. The submitted page loaded over HTTPS.Certificate expiry and mixed-content monitoring.
FormsForm count and explicit or wrapping accessible labels.Detected entry controls have usable label structure.Submission delivery, validation, spam, and error testing.
MetadataTitle, description, canonical, and H1 checks.Four core page-level signals meet the audit rules.Uniqueness and quality across the full site.
Structured dataJSON-LD parsing and Schema.org type inventory. At least one JSON-LD block parses successfully.Truthfulness, field completeness, and rich-result eligibility.
AI crawler accessrobots.txt rules for five search and answer-engine crawlers. No blocking rule was found for the submitted path.Firewall logs, citations, mentions, and off-page reputation.

How should you interpret a website audit score?

A high score means the tested signals are healthy, not that the website is finished. A low score identifies a technical queue, not the order in which every business should spend money.

90–100: maintain

Recheck after releases and monitor real users. A technically strong page still needs accurate content, a useful offer, and working lead or sales paths.

75–89: fix the warnings

Resolve failures first, then warnings that affect access, security, forms, or the primary customer task.

60–74: plan a focused repair

Group related work. Indexing and crawler access come before content polish because unreadable pages cannot be selected or cited.

Below 60: check the foundation

If many failures share the same theme or the site is hard to maintain, compare repair cost with a managed rebuild before patching one symptom at a time.

Which sources define the audit rules?

Teqri uses primary technical documentation for the external and standards-based checks. The thresholds and weighting are Teqri's explainable triage model, not a Google or W3C certification.

Frequently asked questions about the free website audit

What does the free website audit check?

The free website audit checks speed, mobile setup, automated accessibility signals, indexability, a bounded sample of internal links, HTTPS, form structure, metadata, JSON-LD structured data, and AI search crawler access.

Does the Website Grader crawl my whole site?

No. The Website Grader audits the submitted page, its root robots and discovery files, and a sample of up to eight same-origin links. Larger sites still need a full crawl.

Can an automated website audit prove accessibility compliance?

No. Automated checks can find structural issues, but accessibility also requires keyboard, screen-reader, zoom, contrast, content, and task testing by people.

Is the Website Grader score a Google ranking score?

No. The Website Grader score summarizes the ten checks this tool can run. It is not a Google ranking, traffic forecast, conversion score, or guarantee.

Have a repair queue now?

Teqri can fix the current site or compare the work with a managed rebuild.
